After 3DRAP provided us with a Lotus 49 Vintage Wheel for the winner of the raffle from the participants of the 4th Anniversary Race, they offered another great prize for our 3rd Endurance Race.

Short after crossing the finish line, we had a raffle in which all the teams that finished the race were allowed to participate.
The raffle couldn´t have been more exciting!

Look who has won!

Thanks to 3DRAP for the great prize!!!

The Qualifying for 3rd Endurance - 4 Hours Race at Deutschlandring has been closed.
These are the final results and also show the starting grid for today´s event!

In preparation of these event the participating drivers burned 5.505 laps into the asphalt of the Deutschlandring. Given that a lap measures exactly 10 km you circumvented the earth more than 1 1/4 times.

That´s stunning!

Same applies to the incredible laptimes!

It will be fun to watch while not being in the car.

THR hosts a STOCK CAR Championship, beginning on February 5th, 2023. Our drivers can expect an authentic and thrilling racing experience. The championship will feature the 90s Stock Car, updated by LilSki, and take place over six race weekends on some of the most iconic tracks of the era.

One of the most exciting storylines of the 1990 NASCAR season was the intense rivalry between Dale Earnhardt and Rusty Wallace. The two drivers engaged in a fierce battle for the championship, with Earnhardt ultimately coming out on top, winning his fourth NASCAR Cup Series championship.

As THR's NASCAR Championship revives the exciting moments of the 1990 NASCAR season, fans will have the opportunity to relive the intense rivalries and dramatic finishes.

With the updated 90s Stock Car by LilSki, the use of "Dynamic Restrictors App" and the iconic tracks, the championship will be a true throwback to the golden era of the NASCAR and will hopefully provide an authentic and realistic racing experience on the SuperSpeedways.

'Gentlemen, start your engines'

The 1970 Formula One season was a historic one, filled with thrilling races and memorable moments. The championship was marked by intense rivalries, dramatic finishes, and the emergence of a new generation of drivers.

One of the most exciting storylines of the 1970 season was the intense rivalry between Jochen Rindt and Jack Brabham. Rindt, driving for Lotus, and Brabham, driving for his own team, engaged in a fierce battle for the championship, with Rindt ultimately coming out on top. Tragically, Rindt would lose his life in a crash during practice for the Italian Grand Prix, becoming the only posthumous Formula One World Champion.

As the Vintage Simracing community, THR, prepares to host its own Formula 1970 Championship, beginning on January 29th, 2023, fans of the sport can relive some of the most exciting moments of that iconic season. The championship will feature the awesome RSS 1970 Formula car and take place on some of the most iconic tracks of the era, including Kyalami, Jarama, Monaco, Spa, Sandevoerde, Bugatti, Brands Hatch, Hockenheimring, Österreichring, Monza, Mont-Tremblant, Watkins, and Mexico.

It's time to experience it again!

Incredible.

It´s also incredible which laptimes have been burned into the asphalt during the weekday Qualifying which started on Monday and last to Sunday at 14 UTC.

On January 22nd, the Vintage Sim Racing community will come together for one of the biggest events of the year – a 4-hour endurance race on the spectacular Deutschlandring circuit in Assetto Corsa.

The action-packed event will feature 37 teams and over 70 drivers from six different communities, all competing in the exciting ACL GTC Mod with Group 3 Grand Touring Cars from the early 1960s. This is a rare opportunity to see some of the most iconic historic sportscars in the world of sim racing going head-to-head on one of the most challenging tracks in the virtual racing world.

Located east of Dresden in the picturesque Saxon Switzerland mountain range on the north shore of the Elbe Valley, the Deutschlandring was designed to set superlatives. Its long straight, banked high-speed curves and winding serpentines drew inspiration from the state of the art for motor racing circuits at the time: Spa-Francorchamps, Brooklands, Monza, Nürburgring, and the Targa Florio. At a length of exactly 10 Kilometers, it covered nearly twice as much elevation as the Nürburgring Nordschleife: a staggering 522 meters.

Its history was short and dark, and it shall never be forgotten. Between 1926 and 1933, the steep Wartenbergstraße had already been used for the Hohnstein hill climb races. Forced labourers were used between 1933 and August 1934 to make this hill climb section wide enough to include it in the Deutschlandring. Construction slowed down afterwards, and an opening ceremony was hastily held in April 1939 with incomplete pits and without any grandstands. Neither the planned 1940 Grand Prix of Germany, nor any other races were ever held at the Deutschlandring. Only the Hohnstein hill climb event made a comeback in 1951, which two competitors did not survive, and it never returned again.

In our virtual motorspots environment, every lap of Fat-Alfie's spectacular Deutschlandring is a grueling test of driver skill, bravery, and endurance. The 4-hour race with only one driver change will push drivers and teams to their limits, as they race against the clock and their competitors to claim victory.

With so many talented drivers and teams on the grid, the competition is sure to be fierce. Expect to see thrilling battles for position throughout the field on new custom TV cameras, as well as some exciting pit stop strategies and driver swaps.

The event promises to be a true spectacle for fans of vintage sim racing, and it is not to be missed. The competition is sure to be fierce, and it is impossible to predict who will come out on top in the end.

For those who can't make it to the track, the race will be live-streamed on Youtube and commentated by two different teams in English and German, providing fans with the opportunity to witness all of the action from the comfort of their own homes.

Mark your calendars, set your reminders and join us on January 22nd as we witness one of the biggest vintage simracing events in 2023, wherein some of the best drivers and teams in the vintage sim racing community will compete for glory on the challenging Deutschlandring circuit.

Between December 21, 2022 and January, 8, 2023 THR held two time trial events during its Christmas Break.

The Bellof Challenge

The first time trial event was held at the Nordschleife track using the Porsche 962C. The event attracted a total of 33 participants who were eager to set fast lap times on the iconic German circuit, driving a total of stunning 401 laps.

The Nordschleife is known for its demanding layout and unforgiving conditions, making it a true test of both driver ability and car setup. The track, which is located in the beautiful Eifel region of Germany, features over 20 kilometers of winding tarmac and more than 170 turns.
As the participants took to the virtual track, the competition was fierce and the lap times were close. In the end, it was Jayden HW who came out on top, setting a time of 6:05.783 to secure first place on the podium. In second place was meisterJäger, who finished just over five seconds behind the leader with a time of 6:10.964. Rounding out the podium was Felix789, who posted a time of 6:11.762.

The times set by the top finishers were quite impressive, evermore so it is worth noting that the first two drivers were even able to beat the Stefan Bellof's iconic lap from 1983. Bellof's record, which stands at an unbelievable 6:11.13, had been considered unbeatable for a long time, but these virtual racers proved that anything is possible with skill and determination.

The Brabham Challenge

The second time trial event was held on the Fonteny track with the 1967 F1 championship winning car Brabham BT24.

A total of 20 drivers participated in the event, driving a total of 172 laps. The top three finishers were separated by around 15 seconds. In the end, it was meisterJäger who took the top spot, setting a time of 8:20.660. In second place was Pete Bondurant, who finished with a time of 8:27.282, while Guayando rounded out the podium with a time of 8:36.534.
The Fonteny track is a 26km loop of real roads located in the French countryside of the Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan. It features a mix of fast straights, technical corners, and undulating hills, making it a challenging and diverse circuit, which tests a driver's versatility and car control skills. It's a true test of a driver's ability and requires a well-rounded approach to be successful.
The track is known for its challenging layout and varied terrain, which tests a driver's versatility and car control skills - a truly rewarding track. All finishers of this event proved that they have what it takes to excel on this demanding circuit.

Congratulations to all participants and especially to the podium finishers of both events.
We hope the events brought to you some racing variaty during the usually very quiet holiday season.

Deutschlandring 4 Stunden Rennen - AC Legends GTC 60s

Another year is almost in the books.
Covid is still here, but for many of us, life has returned to some semblance of normalcy in 2022.

In 2022 we finished 6 Chamionships:
GPL 5, ACL GTC, Audi 90 GTO, F1 1975, TCL 60s and F1 1991 in which we have driven almost 30.000 laps in 53 different cars on 35 different tracks.

On Top of that we had some exciting special events:
For example the marvelous 2.4 hours of Le Mans in which 4 communities fought for the win and Microlin did an amazing jo as our commentator.
Or the celebration race of THRs 4th Anniversary in which we drove a Full Length GP in the GPL cars at Hockenheim.

We have exceeded the number of 1.500 members in Discord.
Our Youtube Channel has 406 followers.
More than 355 users have subsribed to our website, and 384 people follow our Facebook News and some days ago we started a partnership with 3DRAP.

But in 2022 I also had a difficult time to get through, as organizing the Endurance race took quite a bit of energy and I fell into a bit of a hole for a few weeks where I had little interest in THR things.
But after some time the interest came back and we planned the coming weeks/months.

Currently we host two Time Attacks to fill the Christmas Break and our next Endurance Race is scheduled for the 22nd of January.
At the end of January we will start into a RSS Formula 1970 championship with 13 race weekends and one week later we start a 90s Stock Car championship with 6 race weekends.

I suspect that we will have a lot of fun together again in 2023.

At the end of this year I want to take the opportunity to thank you all.
The community is still growing, the starting grids are nearly always good filled and you try to help each other, when problems occur.

What stands out to me, is that many of us know each other for a long time now and when you have another driver around you during a race, you know how he drives, his strenghts and weaknesses. That feels almost like racing in a real life league.

Many thanks to you for being a member of THR.

I wish you a Merry Christmas, calm and relaxing holidays and a happy, healthy new year 2023!

See you on track next year!

To kick-off our partnership, 3DRAP provided one MOD.49 steering wheel for our THRs 4th Anniversary Race.

Eligible to participate in the raffle were all drivers who particpated in the 4th Anniversary Race and had already raced in at least 10 Main Events of THR.

Look who has won!

(Cause of stress right before Christmas, I had not enough time to double check the recording and missed to record the voice of the participants. Therefore, you have to imagine in your mind how everyone was cheering in the last seconds. And how happy the winner was. Sorry, next time I will also record the voices.)
